I have over 28 years of clinical experience in the fields of Mental Health and Addictions, working with children and adults, I am a highly respected Registered Psychotherapist.
As a Registered Psychotherapist, I use empirically-proven practices to help you change your thought patterns, alter your behaviours, and develop solutions that progress your whole life forward. At Chevalier Psychotherapy, I take a caring and compassionate approach to providing you counselling. I use a strengths-based approach that is both goal-directed and collaborative. This practice is called Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT); an approach that places the focus on your present and future circumstances, rather than focusing on past experiences. Instead of analyzing your history, you’ll use your time and energy to find actionable solutions for the future; meaning more rapid, measurable results. In addition, I incorporate strategies from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Therapy and Positive Psychology in order to best serve you.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Addiction Studies (Mercy College of Detroit) and a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology (University of Detroit Mercy). I am a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario, a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC), and a Canadian Certified Addictions Counsellor (CCAC). I also completed a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts degrees in Religious Studies (University of Windsor). In addition, I am a Limited Licensed Psychologist (LLP) in the State of Michigan, USA.
I am committed to remaining at the forefront of industry of best practices. I continue to attend workshops, seminars, and webinars and online courses in order to prepare fully for you.
If you’re feeling down, hopeless, anxious, sad, depressed, or worried – then seeing a Registered Psychotherapist is a smart choice.
My ultimate goal is to empower you to discover smart solutions within yourself, building the groundwork for a more rewarding lifestyle.
